The 20-member Valley Echoes Chorus (formerly Green Heart Chorus), made up of women from Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Surrey, placed second at the annual Region 26 convention of Sweet Adelines in Calgary, May 12-14.
Led by Carol Argue, the local singers competed in the small chorus category.
Eighteen choruses and 12 quartets from Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia put their singing skills to the test during the three-day event.
The Valley Echoes Chorus is a dynamic group of women who meet weekly to enjoy the pursuit of music excellence and public performance, singing four-part unaccompanied music in a variety of pop styles.
