Totally Book•ish plans to open in downtown Abbotsford in May.

A brand new bookstore is opening soon in downtown Abbotsford.

Signage is up at The Flatiron building (2539 Montrose Ave.) indicating that the site is the future home of Totally Book•ish.

Social media posts from the store share that the new location will be open in May.

Totally Book•ish is an independent bookstore brand with one current location at The Junction Shopping Centre in Mission. That store opened on Oct. 9, 2019 and in addition to books it offers products like puzzles, candles, coffee mugs, greeting cards, notepads and more. All the suppliers are Canadian and most of the products are locally sourced.

The Abbotsford store hours are set to be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Online shopping is also available on the store's website at totallybookish.com.

Downtown Abbotsford was home for many years to Hemingway's Books and Records, which closed in early-2023 after 33 years of business at 33765 Essendene Ave.

Other bookstores in Abbotsford include: Indigo (Sevenoaks Shopping Centre), The Book Man (2630 Bourquin Crescent W) and House of James (2743 Emerson St.).
