Kilby Historic Site will officially open daily on June 23 for the summer months.
The 1906 general store museum, Waterloo farm, gift shop and café will also be celebrating Father’s Day with its 10th annual Black Powder event.
Muskets, pistols, bows and arrows and even a cannon are on hand to help celebrate Father’s Day with a bang.
Visitors will step back in time to the 1880s. The Red Mountain Renegades are back; performing their amazing and hilarious Wild West Fast-draw action gun show at noon and 2 p.m.
The Fraser Valley Frontiersmen will be on site demonstrating antique firearms and primitive archery.
Arnie Leon will be performing First Nation cultural demonstrations and flute music. You will also be given the opportunity to see a piece of metal being shaped into form with demonstrations of the traditional skill of blacksmithing.
Trader’s Row is filled with vendors and displays from the 1880s. For a small fee children can make a First Nations craft with Ester. There’ll be live music, fun for the kids and of course, Father’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a sizzling barbecue!
