Three burnt vehicles were discovered on the Lost Creek Forest Service Road near Mission last week.

According to the detachment’s weekly “Community Connection” crime recap, a witness reported seeing the vehicles on Monday (April 29).

Mission RCMP found a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup stolen from Chilliwack, a 2019 Kia Elantra stolen from Surrey, and a 1972 travel trailer — all of which were completely burned.

The burned vehicles were one of 314 calls for service for Mission RCMP from April 29 to May 5.

The detachment is also searching for a truck stolen overnight on April 29/30. A white 2006 Ford F350 was taken from a Bench Avenue residence.

Police say the truck is a crew cab dually with a chrome grill and front bumper.

Those with information are urged to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.

Meanwhile, officers nabbed several impaired drivers last week and issued a trio of 90-day driving prohibitions.

On May 1, police attended a single-vehicle crash near Dewdney Trunk Road and Cade Barr Street. RCMP determined a 55-year-old woman driving the vehicle was impaired by liquor and was issued a 90-day prohibition.

The same evening, an off-duty officer witnessed a vehicle driving erratically as it crossed over Mission Bridge into Mission. Police found the vehicle and pulled it over as the 62-year-old driver pulled into his driveway. The man was confirmed to be impaired by liquor and issued a 90-day prohibition.

Finally, on May 2, a witness reported a suspected impaired driver on Topper Drive. An officer spoke with the driver, confirmed he was showing signs of impairment, and escorted him to the Mission RCMP detachment, where he provided breath samples in excess of the legal limit.
