Almost $300,000 worth of contraband seized from Mission Institution

Contraband with an estimated prison value of $298,310 was seized at Mission Institution on Sunday (March 17).

Methamphetamine, drugs, two smartphones and accessories were seized in the medium security unit, according to a news release from the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) on Tuesday (March 19).

The seizure of unauthorized items came as a result of the vigilance of staff members, the CSC says.

Police have been notified of the incident and the institution is investigating.
