First responders in Mission attended back-to-back crashes on Monday evening (June 10).

An empty school bus was struck by a black pickup truck at roughly 5:15 pm while turning from Keystone Avenue onto Hayward Street.  Mission RCMP say no injuries were reported in the incident.

Mission Public School District confirmed the bus wasn't a part of its fleet.

In a news release, the detachment urged drivers to slow down and drive safely.

"Some drivers have a tendency to drive with extra vim and vigour when the sun comes out, and even though road conditions may be good, speed can quickly bring a dark cloud to your sunny-day drive. Please slow down and enjoy the journey," Mission RCMP said.

An hour after the bus crash, a three-vehicle collision was reported at the Cedar Street and Egglestone Avenue intersection.

Police say a witness reported that a black Dodge Dart went through a red light and collided with a grey Mazda before both vehicles crashed into a pickup truck stopped at the red light.

According to a local Facebook group, a black labrador dog named Tilly reportedly ran away from the scene after the crash. Residents were on the lookout and the pup was found the same evening.

Mounties say minor injuries were reported for the people involved in the crash.
