Multiple cell phones and laptops were stolen from a downtown Mission electronics store last week.
According to Mission RCMP’s weekly “Community Connection” crime recap, the glass door was smashed at the First Avenue business near James Street on Sunday morning (Jan. 19).
Police say an investigation is ongoing and urge any witnesses to contact the detachment.
The break-in was one of 266 calls for service attended by Mission RCMP between Jan. 13 and 19.
Officers responded to a potential break-and-enter in progress at an abandoned property on Dewdney Trunk Road near Dalke Avenue at roughly 1 a.m. on Jan. 17.
Upon arrival, police determined the people were on the property lawfully.
However, Mission RCMP determined that one of the men present had previously been linked to an assault with a weapon incident.
The 41-year-old Mission man also had a knife on him, which breached the conditions of a prior release rrder. He was arrested and held for court.
Meanwhile, a pair of excessive speeders were stopped on Jan. 13 and received tickets.
While conducting speed enforcement along Lougheed Highway in Deroche, a grey Mazda 3 was spotted going 135 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone.
A 29-year-old man was issued a ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
A 17-year-old driver was issued an excessive speed ticket the same afternoon after the traffic services unit clocked the Lexus going 111 km/hr in the 50 km/hr zone. on Cedar Street near McRae Avenue.
The vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.
