Mission RCMP arrested one person in connection to a vehicle stolen during a break-and-enter in October.
According to a news release, an officer spotted a red Chevrolet Aveo with no front license plate near Grand Street and 7th Avenue on Nov. 28.
Police determined that the rear license plate was from another vehicle and completed a traffic stop on Wren Street. The driver was arrested and found to be prohibited from driving.
RCMP say an investigation is ongoing.
The detachment also nabbed several impaired drivers last week.
Mission RCMP discovered two people slumped over the steering wheel while parked on North Railway Avenue on Nov. 27.
The black Nissan Maxima was still running with its hazard lights on and the driver had drug paraphernalia in his lap, per the release. Police say the driver admitted to recently consuming drugs.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver received a driving prohibition.
Meanwhile, on Nov. 29, a 35-year-old man failed two roadside screening tests and was issued a driving prohibition to go along with a vehicle impound.
The man came to Mission RCMP’s attention after a traffic services officer stopped the white Chevrolet pickup after seeing it driving erratically.
A 38-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were also stopped last week for impaired driving after citizens called police with concerns.
“As we get into the holiday season, do not hesitate to call 911 if you think you see an impaired driver. You may just save a life,” the detachment said.
On Saturday (Nov. 30), a motorist reported that a Christmas tree was in the southbound lane of the Mission Bridge.
“An officer from the Mission RCMP promptly responded and advised the tree that the travel lanes were for vehicles only. The tree apologized and said it mistakenly took the wrong root,” the detachment said.
