Mission RCMP responded to a kerfuffle in a local fast food restaurant on Dec. 31.
According to the detachment’s weekly “Community Connection” crime recap, the altercation occurred at around 8 a.m.
Police say two men were using drugs at a table inside and were confronted by a third man.
One of the men at the table suffered minor injuries in the bruhaha and the third man left before police arrived. He was not identified.
Mounties say everyone was asked to leave the restaurant.
The fight was one of 287 calls for service for Mission RCMP between Dec. 30 and Jan. 5.
Officers also responded to a crash into the carport of a Blueberry Drive residence at roughly 4 p.m. on Jan. 5.
“The driver said she lost control after swerving to avoid a blue car that was travelling toward her in her lane,”
Police say the driver of the Sienna was transported to hospital but had no serious injuries. Two other vehicles were damaged in the incident.
Meanwhile, a Mission RCMP Traffic Services unit officer saw a truck in Abbotsford speeding towards Mission near the bridge on Friday (Jan. 3).
“The officer used laser equipment to determine that the truck was travelling at 135 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone,” police said.
After pulling over the truck, the officer discovered 24-year-old driver from Langley was due to be served a 3-month driving prohibition because of his previous driving history.
“The driver – who had a Novice driver’s license – also had 5 passengers and was not displaying a Novice driver’s sign”, police said.
He was served multiple tickets, and his 2025 pickup truck was impounded for 7 days.
