The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation was forced to suspend its direct mail fundraising campaign due to the Canada Post strike.

Tis the season of giving, especially for hospitals all throughout the Fraser Valley, which typically see some of their biggest fundraising contributions during the holiday season.

However, things will look a bit different this year due to the ongoing postal strike impacting the direct mail fundraising campaign run by the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation.

This campaign, which typically generates approximately $140,000 for the foundation, relies on contributors being able to mail in their contributions, which isn't possible during the Canada Post strike, which is currently in its third week.

"This revenue is crucial in helping us purchase much-needed medical equipment for our hospitals, ensuring we can continue to provide high-quality care to our community," the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation said.

However, just because the direct mail program has been forced to be suspended during the strike, the foundation explained that there are still multiple other ways that people can help contribute to their local hospitals.

Donations can be made in person, on the foundation's website, or through the phone by calling 604-851-4890.

"Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help us continue our mission to enhance health-care services in your local community," the foundation said.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation supports the Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Fraser Canyon Hospital, and several other regional health centres.
