A 61-year-old Langley woman allegedly assaulted a police officer in Mission last Friday (July 26) after a traffic stop.
According to the detachment's weekly crime recap, two different witnesses reported dangerous driving at 5 p.m. eastbound on Lougheed Highway near 267th Street.
After pulling over the vehicle near Wren Street, RCMP said the woman was immediately irate with police and assaulted an officer.
Mounties arrested the woman and found an open bottle of liquor. Police say she refused to provide breath samples and was held in custody to sober. The woman received a 90-day driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound, and police are continuing to investigate for other potential charges.
The call was one of 327 calls for service between July 22 and 28 for the Mission RCMP detachment.
In another incident, a 44-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after a serious head wound after gas-powered bicycle crash.
Mounties were called to the 37200 block of Kilgard Road on Sumas Mountain at approximately 8:45 pm on July 23.
A man was found seriously injured on the side of the road. Investigators believe he lost control of the bicycle, possibly as the result of losing a wheel. Police say the 44-year-old is expected to survive.
Meanwhile, a semi-truck was stolen from a Harbour Avenue parking lot between July 23 and 28. Both doors of the white Peterbilt semi-truck (without a trailer) had “Best Transport Image” written on them in red writing.
