A 43-year-old man was taken into custody after a woman was allegedly assaulted and robbed in Mission on June 5.
According to a news release from Mission RCMP, officers received reports of the assault from the woman inside a Ferndale Avenue residence last Wednesday.
Police met with the woman and identified "key evidence" inside the house. A search warrant was granted and officers searched the house two days later. Due to risks to officer safety, the Emergency Response Team assisted Mission RCMP with the incident.
"Several people exited the house cooperatively, however, ERT had to make entry into the house to try to locate the offender. He was eventually located hiding in the attic, and was arrested without further incident," Mission RCMP said.
The Mission man was taken into custody for offences related to the assault until a court appearance on Tuesday (June 11). Police say the man has a criminal record and outstanding charges for failing to comply with a probation order.
Mission RCMP remained on the scene throughout the day on June 8 to gather evidence.
