Playground equipment at Gary MacDonald and Jack Wade Park will be replaced next year and the City of Mission is seeking feedback on proposed upgrades.
The city opened a survey that includes renderings and plans for the two local playgrounds. According to a social media post from the city, equipment at both parks has reached the end of its life.
At Gary MacDonald Park on Bobcat Drive, the plan is to maintain current playground structures while improving the slides, expanding to include seesaws, spinners, and rockers, and increasing opportunities for climbing, swinging, and balancing.
Meanwhile, the plan for Jack Wade Park at 8495 Veres Terrace is to upgrade swings while maintaining the number of seats, modernizing the seesaw to include handlebars and a backrest, and increasing opportunities for climbing, swinging, and balancing.
The surveys ask respondents if they support the proposed playground upgrades. They also provide the chance to add more feedback.
