Shooting in Mission Superstore parking lot leaves man with serious injuries

RCMP say 41-year-old man transported to hospital after ‘targeted shooting’ on Wednesday night

A shooting in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore in Mission on Wednesday evening (Dec. 6) left a 41-year-old man with serious injuries.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Mission RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a vehicle in the Superstore parking lot on Lougheed Highway. Mounties found the 41-year-old man inside a parked vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival.

Police say the man was taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is unclear at this time.

“Initial indications are that this was a targeted shooting,” Mission RCMP Cpl. Harrison Mohr said in a news release.

Witnesses describe a vehicle fleeing from the scene, police say.

Mission RCMP is working to confirm a description and the serious crime unit is investigating the case. The detachment says more information will be available in the coming days.
