Shots were fired outside a property in Mission’s Silverdale neighbourhood on Saturday (March 9).

Residents of the 8900 block of Hayward Place heard gunshots at roughly 6 a.m. and called police, according to a Mission RCMP news release.

Upon arrival at the scene, Mission RCMP discovered “numerous” shell casings on the street. However, police say there was no immediate indication that anyone or anything was struck by the bullets.

Police have secured a neighbouring residence in the area for further examination. Officers with the detachment’s Serious Crime Unit will be on scene throughout Saturday searching for additional evidence.

Those with information are urged to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
