Owners of Mission Tim Hortons presented a cheque for almost $20,000 to Fraserview Learning Centre from the 2025 Smile Cookie campaign.

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Mission raised a total of $19,839 for Fraserview Learning Centre.

Local Tim Hortons owners joined the Mission Public School District board on Tuesday to present a cheque to the school.  Principal Jordan Klassen said the 2025 profits are a record in the Mission area.

Fraserview was chosen as the recipient for the campaign after one of the local owners urged the school to apply for the initiative after seeing Fraserview  receive funding through the Vancouver Sun’s Adopt-A-School campaign in December.

Klassen says Fraserview students experience struggles with basic necessities more than other local schools. Each student at the school has a tailored program based on their needs and admission is done through a rigorous referral process.

The principal says in most cases, referred students are identified as requiring solid supports. The funds from Smile Cookies will allow the school to help students in a range of ways, including clothing, food, rent, registration fees and more.

MPSD board chair Tracy Loffler said Fraserview is important to Mission.

"One of the goal areas of our strategic plan, is that students have the choice about where and when and how they learn, and we know that not all learners are the same. Different learners learn in different environments, and so being able to provide learning environments that support students is of importance," Loffler said.
