A water quality notice was issued for Mission residents on Monday (Jan. 13).

The City of Mission issued a water quality notice on Monday (Jan/ 13) for residents using the Cannell Lake water supply.

According to the release, Abbotsford Mission Water and Sewer Services says some residents may notice discolouration and an unusual taste or odour in their drinking water.

"Water remains safe to drink and is not a health concern," the release states.

The notice says maintenance activities are underway.

However, it states water quality samples continue to meet Provincial water quality standards.

"A carbon filter, such as those from Brita Canada or similar device, may alleviate the smell and taste," the notice reads.

Abbotsford Mission Water and Sewer Services supplies municipal water to Abbotsford, Mission and a small part of the Fraser Valley Regional District. Most Mission residents receive drinking water from Cannell Lake and the water is regularly tested.

Impacted residents can notify the City of Mission of any water quality issues at 604-820-3761.
