They say sharing is caring, and a group of eight Mission co-workers have plenty to share, after collecting a $1 million lottery win.
The group of Save-On-Foods employees, who call themselves the “Magnificent Seven (Plus One),” won the 6/49 guaranteed draw on Feb. 20 and plan to celebrate together.
The friends are walking away with $125,000 each but the sharing aspect among friends is what makes it so special, according to group trustee Debra Mortimore.
“We’ll be celebrating. We have a limousine rented and the champagne is already waiting in the limo,” she said.
“It’s a lot more fun to share this. What’s great is that we are able to claim the money and experience this win together,” Mortimore added.
After the champagne is finished and the limo is gone, the members plan on using the cash to pay off debts, travel, renovate their homes and make new purchases, like cars and jewelry.
