A man has been arrested and charged in relation to a shooting incident in Abbotsford over the summer.

The incident took place just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 29 in the 33800 block of Mayfair Avenue. A 22-year-old man told police that he and his girlfriend were in a vehicle in the driveway when occupants of a dark pickup truck fired shots at them, hitting the car and the house.

The suspects sped away, and nobody was injured.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) stated on Thursday (Dec. 10) that Amritpal Saran, 22, has now been charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm, possessing a firearm without a licence, and storage of a firearm contrary to regulation.

The APD is asking that anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting or who has CCTV, dash-cam video or information contact the major crime unit at 604-859-5225.
