The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle linked to the break-ins of four residential garages within 35 minutes early Tuesday morning (Dec. 7).

APD Const. Paul Walker said a white SUV occupied by three men went to the Eagle Mountain subdivision in east Abbotsford between 3:10 and 3:45 a.m.

Walker said the men smashed the windows of vehicles parked on the road and removed garage door openers. They then used the devices to get into the garages of four homes.

Walker said a variety of tools and personal property were stolen. He advised residents to follow the “9 p.m. routine” recommended by the APD.

“We are asking residents to remove their garage door openers from their vehicles when parked outside to prevent thieves from accessing their homes quite easily and, in most cases, undetected,” he said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect vehicle or who has dashcam footage of the Eagle Mountain area between 2:30 and 4:320 a.m. on Dec. 7 is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225.
