An Abbotsford School District survey is asking for input from parents as they start to plan for “Stage 3” of the province’s Education Restart Plan, which begins on June 1.
The district is examining all their options for a partial return to in-class instruction for students, which includes a variety of hybrid models and schedules.
The survey opened on May 15, and closes this Friday, May 22.
The District Parent Advisory Council is hosting a public Zoom meeting tonight at 7 p.m. with district’s superintendent, Dr. Kevin Godden, to go over some details around the planning and preparation.
B.C.’s Ministry of Education announced the transition into the next phase on May 15.
“The science shows us that we’re ready to bring students back to school safely on a gradual and part-time basis,” said Premier John Horgan. “This will be welcome news for many families who have struggled to adjust to remote and online learning, and for parents who are going back to work.
“At every step, we will move slowly and make health and safety our top priority. B.C. has done well under the guidance of our provincial health officials, and now is the time to take this next step together.”
