Abbotsford two car head-on collision sends six people to hospital

Burgess Avenue accident had road blocked off for several hours around 7 p.m. yesterday

A two vehicle head-on collision in the Mount Lehman neighbourhood sent multiple people to Abbotsford Regional Hospital last night.

“The accident involved four people in a sedan, two adults and two young people, and an SUV with one adult and one young person,” said Sgt. Judy Bird, media officer for the Abbotsford Police Department. “All of them went to the hospital.”

Just after 7 p.m. emergency crews responded to reports of a crash on Burgess Avenue. They arrived on scene to find both vehicles severely damaged with one car just off the road on its side.

The vehicles were traveling at high speeds when they collided near a blind hill.

Bird said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Abbotsford police cordoned off the road for several hours while they investigated the accident.
