Abbotsford’s Safeway will permanently close its doors Saturday night as the Sobeys chain re-brands another one of its storefronts in the Fraser Valley as a FreshCo.

The parent company has re-branded several of it’s locations in the valley including Mission and Aldergrove. It also has plans to convert locations in Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and Delta.

Sobeys announced 25 per cent of Safeways in Western Canada would converted in December of 2017. IGA, Thrifty Foods and Safeway Canada were all bought by Sobeys in a 5.8-billion acquisition in 2013.
