A pedestrian was injured and taken to hospital after a low-speed collision in downtown Mission on Monday (June 12).

The incident took place at about 2 p.m. in front of the Royal LePage office on First Avenue.

Mission RCMP Const. James Mason said the initial call stated the car had struck the Royal LePage real estate office.

However, when officers arrived, it was determined the vehicle had not hit the building, but had hit a pedestrian and pushed her through the window of the business.

Witnesses stated the driver was attempting to parallel park when he drove up on the sidewalk, striking the pedestrian.

According to police, a stroller was also involved in the accident, but no children were injured.

Police have determined that the driver was not impaired.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
