All candidates meeting April 14 at Best Western

The federal all candidates meeting happens April 14 at the Best Western.

Mission shares a federal riding with Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, and attendees at the Thursday evening event will hear from Randy Kamp (Conservative), Mandeep Bhuller (Liberal), Craig Speirs (NDP) and Peter Tam (Green Party).

All questions have been submitted and given to candidates in advance, and are on a variety of topics, including the viability of the Fraser River as a transportation route, support for infrastructure projects such as P3s, unemployment, the HST and an expansion of prisons.

The meeting is being sponsored by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and The Mission Record.

“This is an important opportunity for the community to learn about each candidate’s vision and how they plan to relate the federal outlook to our area,” states Cal Crawford, chamber president. “The chamber is excited to offer this opportunity to question those who look to represent Mission.”

Doors to the Mountain Room open at 6:30 p.m. with the forum running from 7 to 9 p.m. The Best Western is located at 32281 Lougheed Hwy.
