All forest service roads in the Chilliwack Forest District have been closed due to the potential safety risks from flooding or slides.

“As a result of the observed catastrophic damage to multiple FSRs attributed to the recent storm events, and the potentially unsafe circumstances that may exist in areas not yet assessed, all forest service roads throughout the Chilliwack Forest District, have been closed until further notice,” according to notice from Randall Dayton, district manager of the Chilliwack Natural Resource District.

Once the service roads and associated infrastructure have been “adequately assessed by an appropriate professional,” Dayton may consider rescinding the closures.

“Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.”
