An Aldergrove ATV rider died in Mission Monday evening on a logging road in the Miracle Valley area.
RCMP, B.C. Ambulance paramedics, Mission Search and Rescue and North Fraser Fire Department were called to the scene, approximately four kilometres up the gravel portion of Sylvester Road around 6:20 p.m.
According to RCMP Sgt. Miriam Dickson, the man was in the area with friends for the day, but drifted away from them and then lost control as he approached a bridge. He was killed when he flew off his machine after hitting a bridge and fell to the rocks below.
The RCMP are urging outdoor recreation enthusiasts to use caution, ensure they are properly trained in ATV use, wear approved safety gear, and avoid alcohol, she said.
