Awards ceremony delayed again by teachers' strike

2014 G.W. Cooke Awards for top science and math students were originally scheduled to be held in June.

The ongoing teachers' strike has again scuttled academic award presentations to 59 Mission students who have been waiting since June to be honoured for their prowess in science and math.

The 2014 G.W. Cooke Awards are presented by the Mission Community Foundation to Grade 7, 8 and 9 students. They were originally scheduled for June 12, but those plans were cancelled due to the dispute between teachers and the province. While they had been rescheduled for Sept. 11, the presentation has now been pushed back to Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Clarke Theatre.
