BC Liberal Party leadership candidate Ellis Ross will be stopping in Mission ahead of the election on Feb. 5, 2022.

The Skeena MLA can be found at Fraser River Heritage Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Ross is a member of the Haisla First Nation and was born in Kitimat Village, and is known for leading the team that brought the $40-billion Canada LNG project to B.C.

He’s a recipient of the Order of BC and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

He says he is running as a change candidate, and it’s his belief that leaders should support strong families, strong communities and a strong economy.

Coun. Ken Herar is helping to organize the event in Mission.

There are five other candidates running in the election: Gavin Dew, Kevin Falcon, Michael Lee, Val Litwin and Renee Merrifield.

People must become a member of the BC Liberal Party by Dec. 17 in order to vote.
