The Canadian Blood Service is adding additional donor clinics in Mission.

Starting June 20, special Sunday clinics will be added every 12 weeks. This is in addition to the regular Monday clinics in Mission at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church which are usually fully booked.

The CBS wants to ensure Mission community members have an opportunity to support Canada’s lifeline.

To support the new donation day in Mission eligible donors aged 17 and up are encouraged to book an appointment.

New donors are critical to meeting Canada’s future blood needs. Over 100,000 new donors are needed in Canada this year to keep up with demand.

One in two Canadians is eligible to donate, but only one in 60 does. The need is constant for blood, stem cells and plasma donors. There are approximately 35 appointments still available for June 20.

People can get more information and book an appointment online at blood.ca or by phoning 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283).

Donating blood is a special way to give back to the community. Blood donations provide lifesaving support to patients in need and offer the gift of time to recipients and their loved ones.
