Chamber awards recognize some of Mission's best businesses

Celebrating local business, the Mission Business Excellence Awards held at Silverdale Hall Thursday night was a great success, according to organizers.

This year’s recipients were chosen through a judging process and community vote. With more than 70 nominations, many of this year’s nominees were new to the process.

“It was great to see so many new faces and connect with great local businesses.” said Ann Harper, president of the Mission Chamber, host of the Awards. “This event is always a great celebration of local business.”

 

The 2014 recipients are:

• President’s Award:  The Rock Family

(presented by Fraser Valley Ace Hardware)

 

• Big Bang Award:  Prospera Credit Union

(presented by Mission City Record)

 

• Power of Small Award:  English Tarts

(presented by Mission Springs Brewing Company)

 

• Local Focus Award:  What’s On? Magazine

(presented by District of Mission Economic Development Office)

 

• Community Builder Award:  Mission Adopt-a Block

(presented by Prospera Credit Union)

 

• Customer First Award:  Prominence Nails.

(presented by RDM Lawyers, LLP)

 

The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts the awards annually and would like to thank the sponsors that help make the event possible, including Save-On-Foods, Cory Cassel Productions, Star fm, Country 107.1, Hotties Panzerotti, Suburban Spoon, Mission’s Canadian Tire, Bell Brook Nursery and Envision Financial.
