Company earns award for Mission project

ACECBC recognizes engineering work of Golder Construction on Ruskin Dam

A Mission infrastructure project won an award of excellence recently from the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of British Columbia (ACECBC).

Golder Construction earned the award for its work on the Ruskin Dam's right abutment seepage control upgrade.

The project was completed on time and on budget despite challenging ground conditions, and "significant dam safety and schedule constraints."

According to ACECBC, "This project demonstrates engineering achievement as it accomplished the successful development and application of a previously untried and untested means of flexible connectivity, the cut-off wall tie-in to the concrete dam."

The award was presented April 12 at the 25th annual Awards for Engineering Excellence Gala, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
