You see the signs everywhere in Mission: “We are hiring!”

It used to be that a job fair was filled with young people desperate to find someone who would hire them.

Today, it’s the employers who are desperate to find workers.

So it was good to see so many people show up when the City of Mission co-hosted the 2022 Mission Career Expo & Job Fair at the Mission Leisure Centre on Oct. 11.

The city was working in partnership with Work BC, Mission Public Schools, North Fraser Community Futures, and the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The event was well-attended, with approximately 450 job seekers attending to visit 35 exhibitors participating in the fair, including local employers, post-secondary and career training institutions, industry associations and career planning service providers.
