Drunk drivers nabbed

Despite tougher drinking and driving laws in B.C., Mission Mounties say they've been inundated with impaired drivers recently.

Between Friday, Aug. 12 to the early hours of Sunday morning there was a total of 22 drivers issued driving suspensions by the Mission RCMP along with the Integrated Road Safety Unit.

Police issued nine 90-day suspensions, 11 three-day suspensions, and two 24-hour suspensions for drugs.

Some of these drivers had come from the Rockin' River Music Festival, said Mission RCMP Const. Amanda Fallis, despite strong police presence throughout the event.
