Mission Fire Rescue Service battled a house fire on Thursday.

A Mission family has lost everything after fire destroyed a house late in the afternoon on Thursday.

Mission Fire Service crews put out a fire near D’Herbomez Drive and Melburn Driver in the College Heights area, but not before it destroyed most of what was inside the house.

Maddy Berg posted on the Mission Neighbours BC Facebook page that her friend’s mom “had her whole life go up in flames - everything is gone. Her house, her furniture, her clothing. She called balling saying she didn’t even have shoes on her feet … nothing at all is salvageable - my friend’s at a loss for words.”

Berg is now asking people to reach out to her on Facebook if you have any donations to help the family, especially with any M/L/XL clothing.

“That would mean the world to us,” Berg wrote.

People are asked to contact her with donations through the Facebook page.
