February 24 is “Pink Shirt Day” designed to support kids and adults who choose to stand up against bullying.

At Hatzic Elementary, the entire month of February has been a celebration of pink. Students and staff have been paying it forward with good deeds, at home, school and the community.

Students have created a paper chain that symbolizes each good deed.  According to principal, Melinda Dempster, students learn best when they feel safe and happy and promoting kindness also promotes a positive learning environment and a joyful school.
