Former Mission Mountie facing hearing

A former Mission Mountie is facing a disciplinary hearing in Ottawa for his actions during a shots fired call on Shaw Road Sept. 18, 2008.

Const. Mike White was called to the area after a neighbour reported hearing six gunshots. He was on scene for 13 minutes, didn’t search the area or interview the 911 caller. White then moved to another call.

Across the rural street from the caller 37-year-old Lisa Dudley and Guthrie McKay, her boyfriend, had been shot.

Four days later a neighbour found the couple. McKay was dead and Dudley was still alive, but died en-route to hospital.

White is now facing allegations under the RCMP Act for disgraceful conduct and bringing discredit on the national police force after he was heard chuckling about the nature of the call with the dispatcher.
