Fraser Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at The Residence in Mission.

Two units are affected, with six residents and four staff members testing positive, according to the press release from Jan. 4. They are all currently in self isolation.

“Enhanced control measures have been put in place at the site. Fraser Health is working to identify anyone who may have been exposed and is taking steps to protect the health of all staff, residents and families,” Fraser Health’s press release says.

The long-term care facility, which is owned and operated by Fraser Health, is having its staffing levels supported to maintain resident care and its social visits restricted in the affected areas, along with staff and resident movement areas.

Enhanced cleaning protocols have been put in place, along with twice a day screening for staff and residents.

All residents, staff and families are being notified, according to Fraser Health.
