The Hope Recreation Centre is now open for showers for the people stranded in Hope.

The centre is operated by the Fraser Valley Regional District, and is located at 1005 - 6th Avenue.

The centre is only for showers, and people are reminded to bring a towel. The centre will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and reopens at 8:30 a.m.

The information was shared on the District of Hope Facebook page. Earlier in the day, they put out a call for volunteer hosts to allow people to come into their homes for a shower. Some people have paid as much as $17 for one hot shower at a local truck stop.
