A GoFundMe campaign has been created to raise money to rebuild the Silverhill Hall.
The 99-year-old structure was destroyed by fire last week and many residents are devastated by the loss of this historic sight.

Another fundraiser, a Halloween party, has been created in support of rebuilding the hall.
On Oct. 27, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. the public is invited to enjoy live music by Generations, a costume contest, food and a cash bar. The event takes place at the Ruskin Hall (28395 96th Ave., in Maple Ridge. Tickets are $10 each and you have to be 19 or over to attend.

About Silverhill Hall:
Silverhill Hall was a modest and rustic wooden structure with a simple gable roof. It was located on Silverhill Avenue, surrounded by trees, about eight kilometres west of downtown Mission.
Constructed in 1919 on land donated by Siver Lowe, the Hall was built by and for the Swedish immigrant community that had settled in the Mission area in the early 1900s. It is a physical representation of a tightly-knit community that valued their social interactions, and in particular the desire to continue their familiar traditions and ways of life.
