Greenwood Drive house in Mission destroyed

Firefighters were called to a rural property in Mission Monday morning

This structure on Greenwood Drive caught fire Monday morning.

A Greenwood Drive home in a rural part of Mission was destroyed Monday morning by fire.

Local firefighters were called out around 7:15 a.m. after the renter called the owner and said the house was on fire.

When emergency personnel arrived, no one was home and the building was fully involved with flames, said Chief Ian Fitzpatrick.

All three stations were paged out and 30 firefighters responded to the fire, which has been deemed suspicious, and the file now rests with Mission RCMP, he said.
