Many enjoyed what felt like the last rays of the fall sunshine with blue skies yesterday.

The seasonal rain arrived with a vengeance this morning across the Fraser Valley as the frontal system carrying sub-tropical moisture spread over the south coast, as updated in rainfall warning from Environment Canada for Nov. 3.

They’re predicting rain, at times heavy, from Abbotsford to Hope in the Fraser Valley, as well across the Lower Mainland and parts of Vancouver Island for most of Tuesday, warning the heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

“Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected over the Lower Mainland, Howe Sound and Whistler as well as near Qualicum Beach on east Vancouver Island.”

The rain will taper off to lighter showers by this afternoon or early evening.
