A $3.2-million contract was recently awarded for work at Lougheed Highway and Nelson Street.
Imperial Paving will make signal improvements to make accessing Highway 7 from Nelson safer, enhance fisheries habitat and drainage, as well as expand the roadway to four lanes.
The project is a continuation of the four-laning of Lougheed from Nelson to Wren Street, and the costs have been shared through all three levels of government. Completion is expected by October.
