The new Chinese restaurant in town is a huge hit by all accounts.

Hot Wok, located at 33082A 1st Ave., opened its doors to customers for the first time on Jan. 12. By the next day, people were lined up outside hoping to put in orders; the restaurant even had to close on Sunday and Monday to restock.

This is 59-year-old Don Luojian Dong’s first restaurant after spending many years in the retail business.

He had just returned from purchasing more food when he spoke to The Record.

“I’ve been dreaming of opening a restaurant for so, so long,” Dong said.

“I have a very good cook, I have a very good assistant. They know the restaurant business and they’re giving me great help.”

Don said it’s taken him two and half years to get the building fully renovated and he’s replaced everything.

He said he’s excited to finally be serving customers and happy it’s opened to praise.

Hot Wok is open everyday, except Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
