Huge crowd turns out for Mission skate park official opening

Mission’s new skate park is a big hit with riders.

The new facility officially opened on Saturday, July 16.

The parks, recreation and culture department hosted an opening ceremony followed by Hippie Mike’s 2016 Super Tour Skateboard Competition.

Riders of all ages and skill levels took part in the event.

Park construction began in March and took 14 weeks to complete.

The total cost for the project was approximately $460,000.
