Incumbents have ruled the day in the City of Mission election.
Several incumbents were running to be re-elected, along with a long list of newcomers.
The only incumbent who didn’t put his name forward was Cal Crawford.
The new face on council is Angel Elias, who captured the final spot. Elias is executive director of the Mission Hospice Society.
“I look forward to working with Angel,” said re-elected Mayor Paul Horn. “She will be a great addition to our council.”
Jag Gill, who topped the polls for councillors in 2018, repeated his dominance, beating the nearest candidate by about 2,000 votes.
“When I first ran in 2018, I was just a kid from Mission looking to do something for the community,” Gill told the Record. “Four years later, I have more experience and we have a lot still to do. I’m still so grateful to have the support of voters.”
