The District of Mission has started a planning process to shape the future of the Silverdale lands.
The district has hired consultants “to conduct high-level long-term planning” for the 3,440-acre area in the southwest area of the city that has been identified in the Official Community Plan for future growth.
A series of technical studies will be conducted over the rest of 2018. The end goal is the development of a “master infrastructure strategy” that would identify key features in the land, lay out what infrastructure is required to support growth and where it should be located.
The strategy won’t lay out land uses, but is intended to fill the technical gap between the OCP Vision for the area and future neighbourhoods.
A public information session will be held at the end of 2018 to present the MIS work.
