The top 10 priciest homes in the Fraser Valley don't even rank in the top 100 within the much more expensive Vancouvery/North Shore/Sea-to-Sky region.
And Surrey's top valued residential property – a $14.1 million acreage at 17146 20th Avenue – would place a mere 64th in Vancouver.
B.C. Assessment has released lists of the top 100 highest assessed homes in each sub-region in the province.
The South Fraser region is dominated by homes in Surrey's Ocean Park neighbourhood, mostly ranging from $4 to $10 million in assessment.
The North Fraser list runs from $2.4 to $9.8 million, with the priciest houses in Burnaby's Buckingham Heights area.
Acreages in Langley Township near the U.S. border make up most of the Fraser Valley list, with the top-ranked property assessed at $7.6 million on 19683 0 Avenue. The rest of the valley's top 100 run from $1.4 to $3.6 million and include several in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford or Chilliwack.
In Vancouver/North Shore/Sea-to-Sky, a Point Grey house at 4707 Belmont Avenue is the highest assessed this year at $39.3 million. Others on that area's top 100 – dominated by Vancouver west side and West Vancouver properties – run from $12.9 million to over $35 million.
