Kamp re-appointed to post

Local MP will serve as parliamentary secretary for Fisheries and Oceans

Veteran MP for Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Mission, Randy Kamp has been re-appointed as the parliamentary secretary to the minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada by the prime minister.

"It’s a privilege to be asked by the Prime Minister to continue serving as the parliamentary secretary for Fisheries and Oceans," said Kamp. "It’s a challenge that I’ve enjoyed."

Kamp was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006,2008 and 2011. He has held the position as parliamentary secretary for Fisheries and Oceans since 2006.

Kamp is preparing to head to Ottawa in mid-October for the throne speech scheduled for Oct. 16.
