Kids ages 12 to 17 are the least vaccinated age group in the Fraser Valley.
The lowest numbers are in Hope, where only 33 per cent are fully vaccinated. Half of that age range in Hope has at least one dose, as of Aug. 24.
Hope remains as the lowest vaccinated community in the Fraser Valley, with 62 per cent of those aged 12 and up fully vaccinated.
Mission and Chilliwack have the next lowest rates for fully vaccinated kids, at 45 per cent. Agassiz and Harrison is at 48 per cent, and Abbotsford is at 49 per cent.
The rest of the Fraser Health region is over 60 per cent, with Delta at the highest rate at 71 per cent. Delta also has the highest overall vaccination rate, at 82 per cent for all people over age 12.
The B.C. community with the lowest rate for kids ages 12 to 17 is the Kettle Valley, at 15 per cent fully vaccinated. However, their overall vaccination rate is sitting at 57 per cent.
Vancouver-Midtown has the highest vaccination rate for kids, at 77 per cent.
School starts in less than two weeks, the length health officials state that it takes for immunity to build up after a vaccination shot. Vaccines have not yet been approved for children under 12.
